About

Doreene Clement was a youngster when she began working in several Arizona restaurants that were owned and operated by her mother. Even at 11, she was naturally gifted as a people-person. It was here she learned about business and the value of self-reliance.Doreene Clement

At 23 she purchased and completely revamped an already successful craft store in Greater Phoenix. Offering a welcome multi-faceted inventory of supplies and products, she developed extensive classes and workshops for the public.

Phoenix's primary television talk show host, Rita Davenport of "Open House with Rita Davenport", was already a daily staple for Metro Phoenix when they offered Doreene her own weekly craft demonstration segment.

Seeking for others to gain confidence in their own abilities, Doreene began producing a series of craft instruction books, which she designed, wrote and co-wrote. She also self-published and distributed them - attaining combined sales of over 1 million copies.

Next, the self-motivated and diversified entrepreneur created a highly successful residential and commercial painting company, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Omni Painting was in business for over 20 years, successfully coloring Phoenix, The Valley of The Sun.

In late1999 Doreene self-published The 5 Year Journal, where the user can journal daily the next 5 years in just minutes a day. In 2002 she started her column, About Journaling, writing articles on how to keep a journal or diary.

Sadly, on June 14, 2007 Doreene became a 'Cancer Survivor' who moved on to a bigger mission. She is missed by many friends and colleagues. Her book and her legacy will live on; however. Doreene asked good friend and caregiver in her final days, Sandy Rogers, to carry on with the publishing and distribution of The 5 Year Journal. Sandy promised Doreene she would do her best to keep that promise.
